Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad Boiling Flask

“If the feds show up, let me know,” said BJ sitting at his computer in our old shop in East Hollywood.

That will get your attention. “What?” I asked.

“There’s this pilot that needs some glassware to put together a meth lab. So I just spent the past few hours surfing websites, researching everything you need to put together a meth lab,” said BJ tentatively. “Then I ordered pretty much everything you might need online and shipped it to some warehouse in New Mexico.”

“Did you clear your browser?” I asked, as if that would do anything. “Don’t worry about it.” Thankfully when we did get a call from the FBI later on, they just needed props for forensic training exercises.

That pilot was Breaking Bad, now entering its final season. Congrats to everyone who worked on the show over the years. Special thanks to propmaster Mark Hansen for continuing to use Dapper Cadaver as one of his many sources for props. We especially enjoyed providing some burn bodies and body parts a couple of seasons back.

Tune into the Breaking Bad Season Premiere on AMC this Sunday at 9/8c. Can’t wait to see how this all will end…

Horror Movie Franchises in Space

In honor of the space shuttle Endeavour flying over LA today, we’ve been thinking about the best horror movies set in outer space. In terms of quality, nothing can really beat Alien and its sequels/prequels. (Who else is excited about Prometheus coming out on DVD next month?)

Check out the 1979 trailer for Alien:

But who can forget the horror movie franchises that have gone to space simply because they can:

What horror franchise should go to space next? Saw in space? Paranormal Activity in space? Let us know in the comments!

By the way, if you haven’t already, check out our alien and sci fi props.

Zombie Costume Ideas: Game of Thrones White Walker

There are certain zombies that stand out from the horde. The White Walkers from HBO’s Game of Thrones are extremely unique and iconic. (Not to mention terrifying!) Why not try being a White Walker for Halloween? If you have the FX chops to recreate their blue-eyed leader, you have our total respect. Here is a closer look at the White Walker makeup and prosthetics by Creatures Inc., LTD. But if you have a long brown cape, some furs, ice FX makeup and zombie FX makeup, you should be able to make a pretty convincing White Walker.
